An amazing experience, visiting the famous Dian Fossey Research Centre and the endangered gorillas. A host of other primates are in the forest, such as colobus monkeys and golden monkeys.

Arrival Kigali

Morning or mid afternoon arrival into Kanombe International Airport in Kigali where you will be met by our Ranger Safari tours representative. You will then be transferred through winding roads to Nest Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Gorilla trekking

Have an early morning breakfast, ready to trek to the gorillas in the park. Depending on your level of fitness, you may be asked to choose the group you wish to trek to, the closest being about two hours from the park boundary.

Dian Fossey Research Centre

Morning breakfast and hike to the famous Dian Fossey Research Centre and graveyard where she spent close to 20 years habituating, studying and conserving the endangered mountain gorillas.

Overnight at Gorillas Nest Lodge.

Nyungwe National Park

Have an early morning breakfast then transfer to the mountainous Nyungwe Forest which contains a variety of habitats including montane forests, bamboos, grasslands, swamps and bogs. Enjoy watching the golden monkeys.

Chimpanzee trekking

Enjoy an early breakfast before starting the morning chimpanzee trekking expedition in the forest. You will see colonies of habituated golden monkeys and other wildlife, including grey-cheeked mangabey, blue monkey, L’hoest’s monkey, Angolan colobus monkey and owl-faced colobus monkey.

Genocide Rwanda tour

Spend the morning at your leisure before heading to the Genocide Memorial Centre. Meals and overnight stay at Hotel des Collines.
